Stephen Amell had an interesting revelation he shared with fans on Friday. “Over the past few years I’ve developed a fear of heights,” the “Arrow” star wrote on Twitter.
In a pair of subsequent tweets, he revealed how he was planning on conquering that fear, with the next tweet featuring a photo in which he is leaping off the end of a platform in Whistler, BC, with a purple bungee cord trailing him.
In the final tweet of the trio, he shared a photo of himself dangling above treetops after his bungee jump, writing, “This was right after I proposed to the bungee cord. He accepted.”
On Instagram, Amell shared a video of his big leap.
Prior to sharing video, Amell, 37, offered a photo of himself standing on the edge of the platform, looking downward tentatively.
Amell also shared a photo of himself giving wife Cassandra Jean a kiss on the cheek before his jump, writing, “The couple that adventures together stays together.”
Amell recently announced that “Arrow” would be ending after the upcoming eighth season, and that it was his choice to end the show, which shoots in Vancouver while his wife and young daughter live in Los Angeles.
“A large part of this decision is because I’m now a father and a husband and a lot of my life and interests don’t really reside in Vancouver anymore and thinking that’s the best thing for me personally and professionally,” he said, describing his years on “Arrow” as the “greatest professional experience of my life.”
Amell added that he felt “both personally and professionally that at the end of my commitment this coming season, it would be the best for me to move on,” but left the door open for potentially reprising the role at some point.
“Something tells me even when I’m done I won’t be gone,” he added. “If you’ve watched the Arrowverse, you understand.”
