Cardi B did whatever it took to make money while she was working as a stripper.

In an old Instagram Live broadcast that resurfaced over the weekend, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper looked back on the times men took her to hotel rooms to try and pay her for sex.

“N****s must’ve forgot, my n***a, the shit that I did to muthaf**kin’ survive,” Cardi said. “I had to go strip. I had to go, ‘Oh yeah, you wanna f**k me? Yeah yeah yeah, let’s go back to this hotel.’ And I drugged n****s up and I robbed them. That’s what I used to do. Nothing was muthaf**kin’ handed to me, my n***a. Nothing!”

She added: “I’m a good-hearted person but I have done some f**ked up s**t. Y’all don’t have to worry about it, y’all don’t gotta tell my story.”

Cardi also revealed that she plans on writing a memoir detailing those years of her life.

“You wanna know why y’all don’t gotta tell my story?” she said. “Because I’m gonna write a book about my life. I’ve been through a lot of s**t. I’ve been a b***h that from young been in the streets. I got influenced by the streets.”

Her comments resulted in a backlash on social media, and Cardi took to Twitter to address and clarify her comments.

“So I’m seeing on social media that a live I did 3 years ago has popped back up,” she wrote in a Twitter post on Tuesday. “A live where I talked about things I had to do in my past right or wrong that I felt I needed to do to make a living. I never claim to be perfect or come from a perfect world wit a perfect past I always speak my truth I always own my s**t… I never glorified the things I brought up in that live I never even put those things in my music because I’m not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it.”

She continued: “I made the choices I did at the time because I had very limited options,” adding, “The men I spoke about in my live were men that I dated that I was involve[d] with men that were conscious willing and aware. I have a past that I can’t change we all do.”
