On Tuesday, Marvel Studios released a batch of character portraits for its upcoming blockbuster “Avengers: Endgame”, with one grouping representing the characters who hadn’t been disintegrated by galactic despot Thanos (Josh Brolin), and those who had.
The group of survivors includes Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Bruce “Hulk” Banner (Mark Ruffalo), along with Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), who’s rumoured to play a key role in the upcoming “Avengers” flick.
The second batch of portraits represents Thanos’ victims, including Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Star Lord (Chris Pratt) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson.
Sharp-eyed fans, however, noticed a sad addition in the list: Shuri (Letitia Wright), Black Panther’s tech-wizard sister, who was not among those who perished onscreen during “Avengers: Infinity War”, but apparently died offscreen.
While a trailer for “Endgame” merely listed Shuri as “missing,” the unfortunate truth struck a nerve with fans, who took to Twitter to express their disbelief that the fan-favourite character was among the fallen.
In addition to the character posters, Marvel also unveiled a new featurette for “Avengers: Endgame” ahead of its debut on April 25. Watch:
