The mystery behind those strange flyers sent by Radiohead to fans appears to be solved with today’s release of the band’s new single “Burn the Witch”; and accompanying video.

Boasting a lush, orchestral feel, the single’s video — directed by Chris Hopewell — uses claymation animation to provide a an appropriately creepy backdrop, telling the story of a seemingly idyllic town that practices ritual sacrifice by burning witches.
Fans can assume that “Burn the Witch” is the first single of the band’s long-awaited ninth studio album, wth the single to be released on all digital platforms on Wednesday, May 4.
