Jordan Peele’s rise from TV comedian to Oscar-winning filmmaker is a success story that other comedians are hoping to emulate.
That’s certainly the case for comedians Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, who welcomed Peele to their late-night Showtime talk show on Thursday night to pick his brain and pitch him terrible movie ideas.

Desus and Mero are trying to achieve the E.G.O.T., and believing they already have the Grammys sewn up with their hilariously vulgar John Legend collaboration, the pair are now turning their attention to the Oscars.
Peele, who won an Oscar for Best Screenplay for his movie “Get Out”, reluctantly agreed to hear the wide range of pitches from the eager comedians, though he didn’t seem particularly enthused with any of their ideas.

Desus began with his pitch: “Two males from a borough in New York City — highly attractive, both minorities, both children of immigrants. They get a show off their podcast… and then they just spend the money that they get from it. But the money’s haunted.”
To guide the comedians, Peele suggested locking that idea away and tossing it.
Other pitches included “Baby Shark”, “We Bought a Bronx Zoo”, “Avengyerrrrrrs,” and the Italian-inspired “Bada Bing Babadook.” Desus admitted that most of these ideas were thought up while getting drunk at Olive Garden.

There was one idea that the “Us” director was intrigued by, though: “Suck My D**k from the Back, to the Future”, even if he did think it sounded like a “porn take on ‘Back To The Future’.”
“I don’t hate this idea,” he said. “I think this just takes a real deft hand to pull it off without offending people.”
