Did Justin Bieber just tease that he’ll be releasing some new music this summer?
That’s the theory that’s emerged after the “Sorry” singer posted a cryptic Instagram message Instagram on Saturday accompanying a photo of L.A. Kings superstar LeBron James executing an epic dunk.
“@kingjames!” wrote the 25-year-old singer. “Finna dunk on the world like king James with the summer bangers🚫🧢.”
He concluded by writing, “LeBron is the most iconic figure of my generation, and President Obama.”
Do the words “summer bangers” hint at a new album? It’s been nearly four years since the release of Bieber’s fourth studio album, Purpose, and fans have been interpreting some cryptic comments from the Biebs’ manager, Scooter Braun, as hinting that the fifth will be coming soon.
Earlier in the year, Braun tweeted that “2019 is gonna be a wild one.”
He followed that up by offering a hint about “jb5,” but then deleted it.
Fans didn’t have to wait long for new music, because the next day Hailey Bieber was on Instagram Live when her hubby broke out into an impromptu song dedicated to Dan Kanter, his former lead guitarist.
Hailey was waiting for pro surfer Kelia Moniz to join her on the Live session to plug their Roxy sportswear campaign that resulted in a concert by the Biebs.
While the song might not be album worthy, it will tide over fans who will be waiting a while as the Canadian singer said he is stepping away from music for the time being while he addresses his “deep rooted issues.”
