Inaugural ‘Anchorman’ Race Takes Place In San Diego

This video from San Diego will leave you wondering “by the beard of Zeus, what did I just watch?”

During a Padres baseball game, they had the inaugural “Anchorman” dash featuring Channel 4’s finest.

Ron Burgundy, Champ Kind, Brian Fantana and Brick Tamland started out the race on equal footing, but Burgundy quickly took the lead. In true sportsmanship, the popular news anchor turned around and waved at his fellow competitors as he overtook them.

As San Diego is the greatest city in the world according to Burgundy, the four mascots made in the likeness of the characters can often be found wondering around Petco Park.

ABC News 10 reports that the race was created in collaboration with Paramount Pictures and actors Will Ferrell (Burgundy), David Koechner (Kind), Paul Rudd (Fantana), and Steve Carell (Tamland).
