Ryan Reynolds could have had a totally different object of his affection in “Deadpool”;, according to Olivia Munn.
The 35-year-old actress told American Way Magazine that she turned down the role of Deadpool’s girlfriend, Vanessa because she didn’t want to play “the girlfriend”; – the part eventually went to actress Morena Baccarin.
It’s not that Munn has a thing against comic book adaptations and superheroes. She had a small part in “Iron Man 2″ and will next appear on screen as the mutant Psylocke in “X-Men: Apocalypse”;. Before accepting the part in the latest “X-Men”; movie, Munn wanted assurances that Psylocke would do more than just stand around and talk, she wanted in on the action.

“I thought Psylocke was always one of the most lethal characters, and I said, ‘Yes, as long as you’re not using her to be the eye candy,”; the actress told the magazine. “She has really powerful abilities.’ And they said, ‘Yes, that’s an important part.'”;
Psylocke gets a bit of screen time in the trailers for the film, which show her siding with the movie’s villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) and engaging in a combat scene.

Munn’s worries haven’t ceased since finishing the film since her performance, and that of her character’s presence, is now in the hands of the director and producers as the finished film comes together.
“You can do the first-look cover on Entertainment Weekly,” she said, “but if they’ve chopped up some stuff or taken out moments and the fight scene is reduced for whatever reason, then the moment is gone.”;
