Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini become unlikely best friends after bonding over their dead partners in a first look at the new Netflix dark comedy “Dead To Me”.

After losing her husband to a hit-and-run accident, Jen (Applegate) meets fellow widow Judy (Cardellini) at a grief support group. Bonding over bottles of wine and their shared loneliness, the two become fast friends. While Jen doesn’t know as much about Judy as she probably should before inviting her into her home, her new friend is trying desperately to shield the mom of two from a terrible secret that will tear her world apart.

The new series comes from “2 Broke Girls” writer Liz Feldman and is produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gloria Sanchez Productions. Co-starring James Marsden, Ed Asner, and Brandon Scott, the darkly funny take on grief, loss, and friendship comes to Netflix on May 3.
