Duchess Kate Gets A New Stylist While Hers Is On Maternity Leave

By Jamie Samhan.

While Duchess Kate’s stylist is on maternity leave, the Duchess has hired a former fashion editor who she previously studied with.

Virginia Chadwyck-Healy attended St. Andrews in Scotland with Prince William and Kate before becoming a fashion editor at British Vogue.

After working for the fashion bible for 12 years, Chadwyck-Healy left in April 2018 to start her own consulting business. This means she would have been working at the magazine when the Duchess was Vogue‘s centenary cover star in April 2016.

According to The Daily Mail, she is “known as Ginnie, she is an old friend of Prince William and Kate, and attended their wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011.” Prior to hiring Chadwyck-Heady, Natasha Jackson nee Archer was Kate Middleton’s go-to lady, but she is on maternity leave after welcoming her first child with royal photographer Chris Jackson around Christmas time. It is unsure if her former stylist will return.

Archer/Jackson and Middleton grew the global phenomenon of the “Kate Effect” where a product the Duchess would wear would sell out within hours. She is the biggest style influencer for the royal family, even more so than Meghan Markle.

Chadwyck-Healy is the daughter of 3rd Lord Strathalmond. She has two daughters, two and four, with her husband, Oliver Chadwyck-Healey.

Fans of the royal noticed a slight change in the way Kate was dressing. While not dramatically different, Middleton had a fresh and revived look as she wore a purple Gucci blouse or a J.Crew sweater and combat boots to recent engagements.

“Ginnie is Catherine’s secret weapon. She has made a big difference to the Duchess’s wardrobe for public engagements and has helped give her a whole new sense of confidence,” a source said.

Want to get the secrets of a royal stylist? Chadwyck-Healy vows by the Matches Fashion app which she says she checks more often than social media. Now a fashion consultant, she is a “slave to Eve Lom cleanser (by night), and Sisley foaming cleanser (by day)” with coconut oil for the body.

While her days of heels are over, she tells her clients to wear the Jimmy Choo Romy (85mm) shoes. The Rupert Sanderson’s Clava pebble heel is a personal favourite.

Time will tell if Chadwyck-Healy will bring the “Kate Effect” to a whole new level.
