Woody Allen Is Finalizing A Mini-Series Starring Miley Cyrus

Legendary filmmaker Woody Allen gets very candid with The Hollywood Reporter about his wife Soon-Yi, avoiding the press and even working with the “talented”; Miley Cyrus.

The 80-year-old “Annie Hall”; director touches on the past controversy that surrounded his marriage to Soon-Yi Previn – the adopted daughter of his past partner Mia Farrow. Allen says the contributions Previn has made in his life “have given me more pleasure than all my films.”;

“I provided her with enormous opportunities, and she has sparked to them,”; he explains to THR. “She’s educated herself and has tons of friends and children and got a college degree and went to graduate school, and she has traveled all over with me now.”;

Which means Previn will be at Allen’s side for the 2016 Cannes film festival in France. The “Cafe Society”; director will be debuting the film as the festival’s opener, making it his 12th film to be featured.

As for Miley Cyrus, Allen says he saw her talents from when she was starring in “Hannah Montana,”; which led to her now starring in his upcoming, as-yet-untitled Amazon mini-series.

“It’s not the kind of thing that could go on in perpetuity. It’s one story. It’s a comedy that stars me, Elaine May and Miley Cyrus primarily, a domestic comedy that takes place in the late 1960s,”; he describes the show. “And hopefully people will find it amusing. It’s not going to start any new religions, I can tell you that.”;

As for his ability to dodge the press, Allen says he “never, never”; reads anything about himself or his movie reviews.

“I scrupulously have avoided any self-preoccupation. When I first started, that was not the case. [But now I] just pay attention to the work and don’t read about how great I am or what a fool I am. The enjoyment has got to come from doing the project.”;
