The family of Tom Petty are not exactly getting along in the wake of his death.
The Heartbreakers frontman, who passed away in 2017, left his Estate in the care of his wife Dana York Petty. In his will, however, Petty reportedly insisted his daughters from a previous marriage — Adria and Annakim — be included in Estate decision-making.
Now, according to TMZ, Dana has filed suit against Petty’s daughters, alleging that they have conspired to push her out of control of the Estate.
In her claim, Dana has alleged that Adria has directed attacks at surviving members of the Heartbreakers over the future of unreleased tracks — two of which Dana would like to include on a 25th-anniversary release of Petty’s hit album Wildflowers.
“What I don’t have the temperament for is having my entire life raped,” Adria wrote in an email to members Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell. “Being disparaged. My dad being disgraced. And being surrounded by selfish, unreliable people and drug addicts. I am sorry I am not a man and can not earn your respect through the work and deeds I do.”
