Angelina Jolie is a big movie star but she’s also dedicated her life to helping others through activism and her work with the U.N.
Some have wondered, though, whether Jolie will ever run for political office herself, and speaking to People, the 43-year-old actually leaves the door open to the possibility.
“Never say never,” she says, “[but] right now I am looking to others for leadership.”
At the moment, Jolie is a UNHCR Special Envoy, helping refugees fleeing from dangerous and war-torn countries, and also works with the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative.
“I try to speak for what I believe in,” Jolie says of her efforts.
The treatment of women is a particularly important cause for the star.
“If you look across the world, there are far too many women and girls who are not only not seeing progress, their rights are slipping away from them,” she explains.
