Alex Trebek met with a group of Ottawa schoolchildren and revealed what it is about “Jeopardy!”; that’s kept his interest as host for more than three decades: it keeps him away from dummies.
“I love what I do and I’ll tell you why,”; the Sudbury-born TV icon told students at Roberta Bondar Public School, where he appeared to help kids host a “Jeopardy!”;-style geography quiz, reports the “Ottawa Citizen”;. “Because I get to appear on a stage everyday with really bright people. I hate spending time with stupid people, because stupid people quite often are prejudiced people. They don’t know enough to make sound decisions regarding life or how to treat their fellow man.”;

In addition, Trebek also shared his secret for living a happy life. “The most important thing is you finding something you’re good at and something you enjoy doing,”; he explained. “And if you have those two things going for you, you’re going to be happy in your life.”;
