Elle Fanning shows off her impressive singing skills in her newest film but she also had to learn some unexpected skills to play the role of a teen pop star.

As the young actress explained to Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” Thursday night, she filmed a music video for her film “Teen Spirit”, and in order to get the slow-motion effect right, she had to lip-sync along to the song sped-up, sounding like a chipmunk.

Loving the idea so much, Fallon decided to turn speed-singing into a game.
Fanning and Fallon took turns speed-singing along to famous pop songs, with Fanning trying her hand at Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”, and Fallon doing his best to keep up with “Sucker” by the Jonas Brothers.
