Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Beyonce’s new film “Homecoming”.
The streaming service confirmed the movie would give fans an “intimate, in-depth look at Beyonce’s celebrated 2018 Coachella performance.”
They also said it “reveals the emotional road from creative concept to cultural movement.”
The flick premieres on April 17.
On Sunday, several of Netflix’s social media accounts shared a simple image: the word ‘HOMECOMING’ on a yellow background, with just a date — April 17 — and the Netflix logo.
It didn’t take long for fans to deduce that “Homecoming” was a new documentary focusing on Beyonce’s 2018 Coachella performance, and they laid out the evidence.
The first clue was the release date, with April 17 landing right in the middle of this year’s two Coachella weekends (April 12-14 and April 19-21).
The second clue was the font used for “Homecoming”, which was pretty much identical to that emblazoned on some of Queen Bey’s tour merchandise.
The third piece of evidence was a rumour, reported by Us Weekly, that Beyonce was working on a new album and a Netflix special, with an “insider” telling the mag the special “will be tied to her Coachella 2018 performance.”
