“SNL” duo Colin Jost and Michael Che made it into the ring for Sunday’s WrestleMania 35, held at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, participating in the sixth annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal that kicked off the event.
In video of the match (above), the pair are hiding under the ring while Braun Strowman attempts to dispatch the Hardy Boyz, with only the five men left.
As Strowman tries to push brothers Jeff and Matt Hardy out, Che, 35, and Jost, 36, sneak out from their hiding spot and attempt to knock all three wrestlers out and win the match.
That, however, is not what happens. Che and Jost scurry over to Strowman as he struggles with the Hardys, each grabbing onto one of the wrestler’s legs — which did not budge.
Instead, the six-foot-eight, 385-pound behemoth threw both men off of him like rag dolls, simultaneously tossing the Hardy brothers out. This leaves just the three of them in the ring, with Strowman looking particularly annoyed as he sizes up the terrified comedians.
While the video ends there, People reports that Jost was left to plead with Strowman, telling him that “violence is not the answer,” while Che actually attempted to eliminate himself.
Ultimately, Strowman was declared the winner — although Jost has bragging rights as the runner-up, technically being the last man tossed out of the ring.
We’ll find out if the pair discuss their “WrestleMania” experience on “Weekend Update” in the next episode of “Saturday Night Live”, airing Saturday, April 13, at 8:30 p.m. PT/11:30 p.m. ET on Global.
Meanwhile, here’s Strowman discussing his big win and exacting “payback” on the comedians:
