The feud between “The View” co-hosts Joy Behar and Meghan McCain is still heating up.
On Monday’s episode of the daytime talk show, things got heated once again causing Whoopi Goldberg, who is back in the moderator seat after being off sick, to defuse the tension.
While chatting about Kirstjen Nielsen and her resignation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary position, the co-hosts, including Goldberg, McCain, Behar, Sunny Hostin and Abby Huntsman, debated what acting DHS secretary Kevin McAleenan should do in her absence.
But when the discussion shifted to the U.S. border states, McCain said Americans can’t “sit here and act like there isn’t a crisis” when it comes to illegal immigration. She added it’s not just “crazy people in border states” wanting a change.
“This guy who’s coming in, wants to help those countries,” Behar countered. “That’s the way to solve the problem, keep them there happy.”
“Give a Nicaraguan a house? We’ve had a bunch of liberal guests who don’t want to send in aid,” McCain shot back while interrupting Behar.
“I listened to you. Let me finish,” Behar hit back before McCain said, “Part of your job is to listen to me.”
But before the argument escalated further, Goldberg shut it down: “Here’s what’s not going to happen today, we’re not gonna do this. Everybody gets a conversation piece, everybody gets to say their piece and we don’t need to comment if we don’t like what we’re hearing. Just let folks talk.”
Just last week, the pair were into it again when McCain slammed Behar, claiming Behar “disagrees that I’m smart.”
