Dwyane Wade’s new Budweiser advertisement might just have you buying a box of Kleenex.

The NBA star has been collecting players’ jerseys all-season long as part of his farewell tour. Budweiser recently told the 2009 NBA scoring champion he had five jerseys left to collect. “I have no idea who is coming,” Wade told the camera. “Literally no idea.”

Wade, 37, was then greeted by five different people but none of them were his fellow athletes. The five individuals were all people touched by Wade’s life in special ways off the court.

They include the sister of a Parkland shooting victim, a woman whose house burned down, a man inspired to change his life, a woman who couldn’t afford college tuition, and a mother. They all had one thing in common: Dwyane Wade.

Wade once honoured the Parkland victim by autographing his basketball sneakers. He took the woman whose house burned down, and her family, on a Christmas shopping spree. Wade’s words inspired one man to change the course of his life. He paid for the college student’s full tuition. Perhaps most touching, he stood by his mother despite her addiction and stint in prison.

“I am more proud of the man you have become than the basketball player,” Jolinda Wade told her son. “You are bigger than basketball.” The video had a number of notable personalities, including actress Gabrielle Union, choking up.
