Sarah Hyland Makes Generous Donation To ‘Modern Family’ Co-Star Ariel Winter’s Cousin As He Recovers From A Near-Fatal Infection

Ariel Winter put out the word to help her ailing cousin, and her “Modern Family” sister stepped up big time.

On Monday, Winter, 21, took to social media to share a link to a GoFundMe account raising money for her cousin, Tino, after he was rushed to the hospital on Friday due to an “invasive” infection that could have cost him his life had he not been provided medical attention in time.

As Winter’s cousin awaits further diagnoses and remains hospitalized, GoFundMe is trying to raise $15,000 “to help with his living expenses and other needed items, while he is unable to work.”

By Tuesday, the GoFundMe page had exceeded its goal, bringing in more than $16,000 and counting — including a generous $2,500 donation from Hyland, 28.

In addition to her tweets, reports E! News, Winter shared another plea for help on Monday via Instagram Stories, explaining that her cousin was “rushed to the hospital and put on life support” on Friday, and “most likely wouldn’t have made it” had he not been taken to the hospital when he was.

“The wonderful doctors at the hospital he is currently at have worked tirelessly to find out what is making him sick… They have made some progress diagnosing him and he is a little bit better, but will be in the hospital and unable to work for a long time,” she added.

“I love my cousin so much,” Winter continued. “He is an incredible person that deserves all the love and support in the world,” the 21-year-old said. “It would mean a lot to me if anyone would consider donating to his recovery fund. Anything helps.”
