Former “Jersey Shore” stars Vinny Guadagnino and DJ Pauly D are back in the limelight as new hosts of MTV dating show “A Shot at Love”, and dropped by SiriusXM’s “The Jenny McCarthy Show” as part of their promotional blitz.
During their discussion, host Jenny McCarthy asked if they’ve been in touch with Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, currently serving an eight-month prison sentence for tax evasion.
“We talk to him every day,” says Guadagnino, prompting McCarthy to ask how he’s holding up in prison.
“So good,” says Pauly.
“Exact same,” adds Guadagnino. “He sends me positive vibes. He gets me through my day.”
“He’s in such good spirits,” explains Pauly, “because he sees his wife Lauren once a week and he has so much to come home to. He’s coming home to a job, he’ll be filming, so he just wants to get it over with and do his time — he’s happy.”
When reminded by McCarthy of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s recent quote that Sorrentino is “having the best time of his life in prison,” Guadagnino admits “that’s a little extreme, a little Snooki-ish,” while Pauly says that prison “is like a getaway. It’s not what I thought it was gonna be. There’s no bars, and there’s not that many people.”
“And he’s mentally strong, too,” adds Guadagnino, “so, it’s like nothing for him.”
The biggest revelation, however, was that Sorrentino is serving time alongside Fyre Festival fraudster Billy McFarland and “the guy who leaked Jennifer Lawrence’s nudes,” said Guadagnino. “They play Scrabble together,” he quipped.
Later during the interview, the duo reveal whether they’d like to see O.G. cast member Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola return for “Jersey Shore Family Vacation”. Watch:
