“60 Minutes” will present a special look at the upcoming final season of “Game Of Thrones” before it kicks off this Sunday, as Anderson Cooper visits with the show’s stars on the Belfast set.
As a bonus treat for anxious fans, the segment will include an exclusive, never-before-seen clip from the premiere of the show’s eighth and final season.
Highlights from the segment include a visit to the set of Castle Black (home of the Night’s Watch), a chat with “GoT” author George R.R. Martin, along with some words from producers Dan Weiss and David Benioff.
Also interviewed are stars Emilia Clarke (a.k.a. Daenerys Targaryen, a.k.a. Khaleesi, a.k.a. Mother of Dragons) and Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister.
In addition, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) takes Cooper on a tour of the warehouse in Northern Ireland where nearly every prop and costume from the series is stored, including elaborate costumes, dragon skulls, dead body dummies — even the severed head of Ned Stark.
On Wednesday, “60 Minutes” shared a brief snippet of Cooper and Harington rooting around in the “GoT” warehouse — watch:
