Nipsey Hussle will be honoured in a live memorial service in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
The service for the late rapper, “Nipsey Hussle’s Celebration of Life”, will be available to livestream across the globe (and right here – above) as tickets for the Staples Center event were claimed within seconds. More than 20,000 people are expected, with thousands more paying their respects during a 25-mile procession through the city.
The complimentary tickets were made available on Tuesday, and as per the New York Daily News: “All tickets for the Nipsey Hussle’s Celebration of Life have been distributed and no additional tickets will be available.”
The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, was shot outside his clothing store in south L.A. on March 31. He died soon after. Two others were shot in the attack, but have survived.
Nipsey’s longterm partner Lauren London and numerous stars, including, Kendrick, Beyonce, Pharrell, J. Cole, Rihanna and Drake paid tribute to the Grammy-nominated artist following his sudden death. It is unclear if any of them will be in attendance on Thursday.
He will be laid to rest following the ceremony at Forrest Lawn cemetery in L.A..
