Jaime King spoke about the heartbreaking moment she almost lost her baby son in a new interview with BUILD.

King, whose little boy Leo Thames is now three years old, was promoting her new Netflix series “Black Summer” when she told the story.

In the show, she plays Rose, a mother who is separated from her daughter during the first deadly days of a zombie apocalypse.

King explained, when talking about how she relates to the character, “As a mother, I think I was so deeply vulnerable because… I lost many of my pregnancies and my son, Leo Thames, crashed at birth and I didn’t get to see his face.

“They took him and I didn’t know if he was going to come back to life. He had a serious heart defect called transposition of the great arteries and I just hear, ‘He’s crashing, he’s crashing, he’s crashing, he’s crashing,’ and they, like, ran out of the room.”

King said how she was told there was no way she could go and see her son in her condition but she refused, and she thinks that’s the main reason why her little one is alive today.

The actress continued, “I walked into this NICU and it was, legitimately, looking back, like a scene in the movie. And it makes me really emotional, watching it, because when I walked in, everybody went pale and my child was barely alive.

“That’s when I realized there’s nothing that I could not do or will not do for my child.”
