Anna Wintour is amping up her style game thanks to Meghan Markle.
While speaking at the 10th annual Women in the World summit in New York, the Vogue editor-in-chief was asked by event’s CEO Tina Brown what inspired her signature look of fit-and-flare dresses, which are mainly designed by Chanel and Prada.
“I think that’s an entirely personal decision. It’s probably an easier decision to wear the same thing every day and not have to be concerned,” Wintour explained.
However, the fashion legend admitted that maybe it’s time to switch up her signature style, crediting Meghan Markle for the inspiration.
“Maybe it’s a little bit boring and time to change. I’ve been thinking a lot about suits recently so…thank you to the Duchess of Sussex!” Wintour stated.
“Obviously, her style is fantastic,” Wintour added. “When she went on that trip to Australia and New Zealand, she was very respectful in choosing a lot of unknown Australian designers to wear, which was great. But I think, more importantly, she’s really bringing modernity to the royal family in a way that is inspiring.”
The 69-year-old’s comments about the Duchess of Sussex were quite surprising to the audience given that she almost exclusively wears dresses.
