The “Star Wars” trilogy will take time to mull over the future of the franchise.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said the beloved film franchise will take a hiatus following the events of the upcoming film “The Rise of Skywalker”.

“We’re going to take a hiatus for a couple of years,” Kennedy told Entertainment Weekly. “And we’re taking the time to really look at where this is going from the standpoint of a saga.”

“We’re not just looking at what the next three movies might be, or talking about this in terms of a trilogy,” she added. “We’re looking at: What is the next decade of storytelling?”

Fortunately for fans of the franchise, there will be plenty of “Star Wars” content to digest in the coming years. Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ will include a live-action “Star Wars” series called “The Mandalorian”.

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” premieres Dec. 20.
