Kit Harington isn’t putting up with any negativity when it comes to ““Game of Thrones”.
The 32-year-old actor, who plays Jon Snow in the popular HBO series, told Esquire that he’s feeling “quite defiant” as the show begins its final season, and he had particularly strong words for critics.
“I think no matter what anyone thinks about this season — and I don’t mean to sound mean about critics here — but whatever critic spends half an hour writing about this season and makes their [negative] judgment on it, in my head they can go f**k themselves,” Harington said.
“Cause I know how much work was put into this. I know how much people cared about this. I know how much pressure people put on themselves and I know how many sleepless nights working or otherwise people had on this show.”
Harington stated that the cast and crew put in so much work because “they cared so much about the characters and the story” and “cared about not letting people down.”
“I don’t give a f**k,” he said in reference to fans or critics potentially being let down by the final season, “because everyone tried their hardest. That’s how I feel.
“In the end, no one’s bigger fans of the show than we are, and we’re kind of doing it for ourselves. That’s all we could do, really. And I was just happy we got to the end.”
“Game of Thrones” kicked off its final season on Sunday night and you can check out ET’s recap here.
