Richard Madden opens up to Elle magazine about his former “Game of Thrones” co-stars and how he prepared to play John Reid in “Rocketman”.
The 32-year-old Scottish actor, who played Robb Stark in the hit HBO fantasy-drama, tells the mag that he’s still close with his former castmates, including fellow Stark kids Sophie Turner, Kit Harington and Maisie Williams.
“It’s quite nice because we were so close when we were kids, and then we went off and did other things but reconnected as adults,” Madden explains in the May issue. But, when the group gets together, he says he has to warn them not to spoil the show.
“I have to be like, ‘Just let me watch it,’” he says. The “Bodyguard” star also admits that since getting killed off in the Red Wedding, he’s enjoyed watching the show as a fan.

“It’s weird because [the characters] talk about Robb Stark, and I don’t associate myself with it anymore. But then I remember, ‘Oh, that’s me, I played that part.’”

Madden will star in the upcoming Elton John biopic as John Reid, the “I’m Still Standing” singer’s ex-manager, and reveals that he received advice from Donatella Versace to help get a better grasp of the character.
“[Versace] said, ‘The thing about John Reid was that he was never wrong.'”
Madden also took part in a video feature for Elle, reading out fan theories for the “Bodyguard” and “Game of Thrones.”
