BTS is riding the K-Pop movement in a big way overseas and the group still has aspirations of reaching greater heights.
The boy band has become an international sensation, collaborating with The Chainsmokers, Nicki Minaj, Steve Aoki, and most recently Halsey. BTS dropped by Apple Music‘s “Beats 1” and told Brookes Reese how the “Boy with Luv” crossover with Halsey came together.
“We met two-years-ago at the BBMAs,” said group leader RM. “She told us she became a fan after watching [our] music videos. We knew her too, of course, she had the biggest song that year.”
“She came to Korea last year and we met again. We talked about collaborating or working on something,” he continued. “We got this track for this album and thought Halsey had the best voice for this track. It happened and, boom, here we are.”
When asked about what other artists they would like to collaborate with, BTS mentioned a mix of artists at the height of their careers and those rocketing upwards: Drake, Billie Eilish and Troye Sivan.
BTS released its third Korean studio album Love Yourself: Tear on May 18, 2018. They released their sixth EP, Map of the Soul: Persona, on April 12.
