Timothee Chalamet and Josh Brolin have confirmed the “Dune” remake is underway.
The co-stars took to social media on Tuesday to show off the stunning landscapes of Jordan. Brolin, who plays Gurney Halleck in the upcoming reboot, chatted with his Twitter followers about the movie while Chalamet, who will star as Halleck’s protege Paul Atreides, shared a look at the desert setting.
Director Denis Villeneuve (“Blade Runner 2049”) is fronting the remake of the 1984 film. Villeneuve plans to split the flick into two parts.
The upcoming remake will follow the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of a spice planet when an evil empire gains momentum fighting control of the plant’s drug “The Spice”.
Joining Chalamet and Brolin in the action flick are Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson (who will play Atreides’ mother), Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista (who portrays the beast, Rabban), Charlotte Rampling, Oscar Isaac and Zendaya.
“Dune” is set to hit theatres on Nov. 18, 2020.
