Anne Hathaway Talks Ageism In Hollywood, Was Told That Once She Turned 35 She’d ‘Never Get A Good Part Again’

Anne Hathaway discusses everything from ageism in Hollywood to receiving marriage advice from Michael Caine in a new interview with Tatler.

The 36-year-old, who has been busy promoting her latest film “The Hustle”, is asked about growing older in the industry.

She admits, “I was always told that once I turned 35 I would turn into a pumpkin and never get a good part again.

“It makes me sad that the world tells me my skin is somehow less valuable than it used to be, but I don’t listen and I don’t agree. I get so tickled by being invited to the show.”

Hathaway, who stopped drinking last year while her son, three-year-old Jonathan, is living at home, also admits she’s still in touch with a lot of her former co-stars, one of whom is Michael Caine.

She says of the actor: “Michael and I don’t really have a ring-you-up sort of relationship. But he’s always very warm and lovely when we run into each other.”
