A pair of teenage YouTube personalities are feeling the wrath of social media after pulling a prank that backfired disastrously.
As Mashable reports, 15-year-old Dani Cohn and boyfriend Mikey Tua, 16, posted what was purported to be a hidden-camera video on YouTube (above), in which the couple told their families that she was pregnant.
The pair followed that up with a subsequent video in which they have a quickie wedding in Las Vegas.
Then, the couple shared another video in which they reveal the sex of their baby, but turned the tables at the end of the video to reveal that the entire thing — the pregnancy, the wedding, etc. — had all been a practical joke.
“You’ve been pranked,” the pair read from a note. “I’m not actually pregnant, Okay?” Cohn told everyone gathered at her gender-reveal party.
Following the stunt, the Twitterverse was not kind to the YouTubers, particularly those struggling with fertility issues.
