The royal couple has recruited a reputable London agency to assist them in finding them a nanny to help raise their child, ET has learned. According to ET’s source, Meghan and Harry — who are already straying from tradition with their birth plan — aren’t opposed to an American nanny; they just want “what’s best for their child,” the source says.
While they’re searching for a nanny, the soon-to-be parents plan to be very involved in their child’s life. As the source notes, both have been waiting to welcome their little one and can’t wait for parenthood. Meghan, in particular, plans to be a very “hands-on, engaged mother,” the source says, but adds that the duchess knows she’ll need help.
“Despite all the pressures and constraints that she has, Meghan is just naturally a caregiver,” ET’s source says. “She cooks for Harry because she’s great and she loves to do it. She’s unbelievable. She can’t wait to be a mother.”
As for Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, another source told ET that she’ll play a “big part in the new child’s life.” Fans thought that with Meghan and Harry’s recent move from their place at Kensington Palace to the 10-bedroom Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of the Windsor Estate suggested that Doria could be spending even more time with her daughter and son-in-law. Contrary to reports, however, the source says there are “no plans currently in place for Doria to move [to England] permanently.”
“Harry wants Meghan to be happy and will go along with her wishes,” the source adds.
A source told ET on Friday that Meghan was due “any day” now — but as Kensington Palace revealed earlier this month, she and Harry will not be immediately announcing the birth of their child. Additionally, unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, who posed for photos outside St. Mary’s Hospital following the arrival of their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — Meghan and Harry will have a photo op with their newborn on the grounds of Windsor Castle when they are ready.
