Eminem has cause for celebration this weekend, and it has nothing to do with either Easter or Passover.
Instead, the “Lose Yourself” rapper is celebrating a major milestone in his life — the 11th anniversary of becoming sober.
On Saturday, the 46-year-old rapper took to Twitter to share a photo of the medallion he received, stamped with the Roman numeal for the number 11 along with the words “Unity,” “Service” and “Recovery.”
“11 years – still not afraid,” he wrote in the caption.
The rapper’s “8 Mile” co-star Taryn Manning shared her congratulations in a comment to his post, reports Us Weekly.
“Rad dude! Teach me your ways. The most admiration. You did it! And can still write like a fkn beast! Proud!” wrote Manning, currently seen as Pennsatucky in Netflix hit “Orange Is the New Black”
Last year, Eminem was in between headlining sets at Coachella when he shared a photo of his coin for attaining 10 years of sobriety.
In a 2010 interview with the New York Times Magazine, Eminem — at that point two years sober — discussed the title of his album, Recovery, and explained exactly he was recovering from.

“Vicodin, Valium and Ambien, and toward the end, which caused my overdose, methadone,” he said. “I didn’t know it was methadone. I used to get pills wherever I could. I was just taking anything that anybody was giving to me.”
