Ewan McGregor’s daughters are both opening up about their sexuality, with sisters Esther and Clara McGregor each coming out as bisexual while taking a stand against Coachella founder Philip Anschulz’s alleged support of anti-gay groups.
According to the Daily Mail, Esther McGregor, 17, took to Instagram on Sunday to declare she’s boycotting the California music festival, currently in its final day.
The post (which has apparently since been deleted), read: “#notokaycoachella. I’ll take the time now to say — I’m bisexual.”
After the message was posted, sister Clara, 23, added that she too is bisexual. “Love you boo. I’ll hop on the train and say I’m bisexual too. Carry on!'” she responded in a comment.
Coachella has been the focus of criticism after it was revealed that Anschulz, who owns the parent company that organizes the festival, had made several contributions to political action groups with anti-gay agendas, leading to a call to boycott the festival.
The 79-year-old billionaire issued a statement last year insisting that he and his company, AEG, do not support anti-gay causes.
Anshulz’s statement followed actress/model Cara Delevigne’s 2018 call to boycott Coachella, writing on social media that she refuses “to go to a festival that is owned by someone who is anti lgbt and pro gun,” adding that it’s her right “to shame that man and the festival.”
