As Buckingham Palace released a statement saying that future plans are “speculative” for the roles that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take, Prince Harry and Prince William added more fuel to the fire by keeping their distance at Easter Sunday Service for the most part.
Stories were reported by the Sunday Times that plans were in the works for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be sent off to Africa with a “bespoke” role that would be “harnessing” their global appeal while giving breathing room to Prince Harry and Meghan from Prince William and Kate who are reported to be in the middle of a disagreement.
Hours after the story broke, Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the Queen at Windsor Castle for Easter Sunday Service. People were quick to point out that the brothers did not walk near each other or speak to each other. However, after reports that the brothers were not talking, a video surfaced on Prince Harry saying something to Kate and William that made them laugh.
Harry also had a quick chat with Kate but spent most of his time walking with his cousin Peter Phillips and his wife, Autumn. More time was spent with his other cousin, Zara, who separated Harry from William and Kate in the welcoming line for Queen Elizabeth as she arrived.
Meghan was not in attendance as she is due to give birth any day now.
Rumours of a royal rift have been in the headlines since Harry and Meghan’s wedding last year. First reports suggested it was Meghan and Kate fighting, but the later reports leaned towards the brothers not seeing eye-to-eye.
It would be safe to assume the boys, like all families, don’t always get along. But for now, Prince William and Harry seem to be just fine.
