In a recent interview with “Newsweek”;, the KISS rocker stated: “How pathetic that [Prince] killed himself. Don’t kid yourself, that’s what he did. Slowly, I’ll grant you… but that’s what drugs and alcohol is: a slow death.”
In response to the controversial comment, Simmons’ longtime bandmate Paul Stanley quickly took to Twitter to apologize on Simmons’ behalf, claiming he was “embarrassed by the cold, clueless statements.”

Adding to the mix was Simmons’ wife Shannon Tweed, who slammed Stanley for throwing her husband “under the bus” after their 40-year partnership. Stanley, however, replied that it was their long friendship that compelled him to respond, pointing out that “partners of 40 years says it all… My apology was right”
We ALL have our failings but true friends don’t point at them & throw you under the bus! Especially partners of 40 years!
