It was a huge weekend for genre fans with the debut of “Avengers: Endgame” and the epic Battle of Winterfell unfolding on Sunday’s episode of “Game of Thrones”, neither of which went unnoticed by TV’s late-night hosts.

On Monday night’s edition of Global‘s “The Late Show”, host Stephen Colbert weighed in on his experience watching the new “Avengers” film, which was unfortunately marred by sound problems in the theatre.

“We had all of the dialogue but none of the soundtrack,” Colbert explains in the video above. “If you didn’t react at all, like breathe too heavy, you could hear them talking. So it was a really quiet, don’t-crinkle-your-wrapper kind of viewing of ‘Avengers: Endgame’.”

Added Colbert: “So I did see the movie. I’m looking forward to hearing the movie the next time I go.”

Meanwhile, Colbert also offered a mashup of “Endgame” and “Game of Thrones” that offered an explanation of what Bran Stark was up to during the Battle of Winterfell.

On “The Late Late Show”, James Corden described the confluence of “Endgame” and “GoT” as “basically Super Bowl weekend for virgins.” Pointing out that the game-changing “Thrones” episode was “the most tweeted about television episode of all time,” he added, “The takeaway from this is that you all need to start tweeting about this show a little bit more.”

On Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, he admitted that he geeked out by watching a back-to-back screening of the “Game of Thrones” episode and “Avengers: Endgame” at Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre.

“It was such a nerd night I almost beat myself up,” Kimmel quipped. “I gave myself a wedgie and a swirly.”

Kimmel also echoed viewer complaints that much of the episode, which took place at night, was so dark they could barely make out what was taking place on screen.

“It was like listening to a very violent podcast,” he joked. “There were so many blacked-out parts of the show I thought I was reading the Mueller Report at one point.”

Kimmel also served up a second edition of his “Game of Phones” commercial parody for a “GoT” hotline to help confused fans, with stars of the show answering fans’ most outrageous questions.

On “The Tonight Show”, Jimmy Fallon also joked about the darkness in “Game of Thrones”, calling the episode “the Mueller Report of TV shows. They redacted the whole thing. Even the president was like, ‘I can’t see a thing.’ His staff was like, ‘Sir, your TV is off.'”

Fallon also joked about the record-breaking box-office haul of “Endgame”, which raked in more than $1.2 billion worldwide in its opening weekend, noting that the film also broke such lesser-known records as “Most Parents Leaning Over to Ask Which X-Man Is That?” and “Most Hot Dudes Named Chris in a Single Movie.”
