She isn’t a lawyer yet, but that hasn’t stopped Kim Kardashian from helping yet another low-level offender be released from jail.
The reality star and beauty mogul revealed on Twitter that with the help of her attorney, they won the release of Jeffrey from Miami who “served 22 years of [a] life sentence for [a] low level drug case.”
She added, “he served too much time but it gives me so much joy to fund this life-saving work.”
Kardashian first played a pivotal role in the release of Alice Marie Johnson, 63, who had served 21 years of a life sentence for a non-violent drug crime.
Since then, the soon-to-be mother of four has been working with activists and lawyers on a national bipartisan advocacy group on criminal justice reform.
“It’s never one person who gets things done,” she told CNN. “It’s always a collective of people, and I’ve always known my role, but I just felt like I wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society.”
Kardashian is also studying for her law degree and plans to take the California bar exam in 2022.
