Jillian Michaels hates the Keto diet and she isn’t changing her mind.

The celebrity trainer, 45, explained why Keto is wrong and how there many other options for people who want to lose weight.

While promoting her new book The 6 Keys, Michaels joined the “#Adulting” podcast, explaining the importance of a diet filled with protein, fat and carbohydrates, something the Keto diet deprives.

“That’s just one of the many reasons why keto is a terrible, terrible idea,” she said. “People can criticize me all they want, but the bottom line is, it’s science and the science is there — and [keto] is bad for your overall health and wellness.”

And while some argue that Keto helps with not just weight loss, but “insulin-related health issues,” Michaels says that’s not true.

“We can accomplish those things…without going into ketosis,” she said. “I promise you it’s not good for you and there are better ways of doing it.”

Earlier this year, she told Women’s Health the same thing.

“Your cells, your macromolecules, are literally made up of protein, fat, carbohydrates, nucleic acids. When you do not eat one of the three macronutrients — those three things I just mentioned — you’re starving yourselves,” she told the mag. “Those macronutrients serve a very important purpose for your overall health and wellbeing. Each and every one of them.”
