BTS is taking the music world by storm, and the wildly popular K-pop group kicked off its “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” worldwide tour on Saturday night at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, where they will play their second of two sold-out shows on Sunday.
“Since it’s a worldwide stadium tour, I think we [should] do something [with] bigger skills,” he said. “We should [have] new details for the new tour.”
According to Variety, the concert clocked in at just under three hours, and opened with the group all wearing white while accompanied by giant panthers on each side of the stage for their opening number, “Dionysus”.
In another part of the show, Jungkook was suspended by wires above the audience while he sang “Euphoria”, while Jimin later appeared inside a transparent bubble to sing “Serendipity”. In addition, assorted BTS members took turns using the slide in a massive inflatable bounce house during their performance of “Anpanman”.
Other highlights reportedly included “fireworks, giant holographic hearts and a sea of fan-held glowing light sticks, swaying in time to the music throughout the night.
One of the fans in attendance was none other than the Jonas Brothers’ Nick Jonas, who shared some video from the show on social media.
Toward the end of the show, reports Variety, BTS member Jin thanked the crowd “for making happy memories,” while V added, “Yesterday I was nervous. This morning I was nervous. Now I am happy.”
RM concluded by declaring, “This is the most important night of my life. … Many years later, I’ll definitely think about this night.”
