“It’s going to come down to each one of us to roll up our sleeves and fix our planet,” Smulders said in a statement. “Ordinary people doing extraordinary things can rise to the challenge of climate change, seize this historic opportunity and make sure that the climate crisis becomes a catalyst for a fairer, cleaner world for everybody. A Green New Deal for Canada is how we do that.”
Victor Garber is also hoping for a change in favour of the climate: “Climate change is a national emergency. It’s time our political leaders started treating it like one. Implementing a Green New Deal for Canada is the way we can truly start to make climate action the priority it needs to be. Our survival depends on it.”
