Those who think Jason Derulo tumbled down the Met Gala 2019 stairs have been bamboozled.
The “Tip Toe” singer was reported to have fallen head first down a flight of stairs at Monday’s fashion event. Those who are sharing the still photo online, however, have been duped.

An unnamed man tumbled down a flight of red stairs at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, according to Cosmopolitan. The moment was captured on camera and has since taken on a life of its own.
In 2015, someone started a rumour Derulo was the man in the photograph. Derulo assured everyone at the time it wasn’t him, noting he was in Los Angeles for a rehearsal.

Nonetheless, the Internet meme has endured over the years. People shared the photo on Monday, believing he fell at the Met Gala. The prank has persisted, but more and more people are setting the record straight. For one, the carpet in the picture is red and this year’s gala has a pink carpet.
