Prince Charles is the latest royal to congratulate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the birth of their baby boy.
The Prince of Wales spoke about the newborn as he and wife Camilla touched down in Berlin Tuesday.
Charles said after being greeted by Chancellor Angela Merkel outside the Federal Chancellery: “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return.”
Meghan gave birth to her baby son in the early hours of Monday morning, with the little one weighing 7-pounds, 3-ounces.
The Palace confirmed: “The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
The statement continued, “The Duchess’ mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton have also sent their well-wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, with William welcoming his brother “to the sleep deprivation society.”
