Eminem has laid down the ultimate challenge to comedian Chris D’Elia, a rap battle.
The Detroit rapper threw down the gauntlet on Tuesday while tweeting about his new single, “Homicide”, featuring Logic. The rhyme-heavy track includes a sample of D’Elia’s hilarious Eminem impression.
D’Elia, who previously starred in the sitcom “Whitney”, went viral last year when he uploaded a video of himself rapping in the style of a modern-day Marshall Mathers. The clip was such a hit that Slim Shady himself praised it, saying, “for a second I thought it was me.”
Not one to back down from a challenge, the comedian quickly responded, telling the “8 Mile” star to name the time and place. “I’ll bring the napkins,” he wrote, referencing a line from his freestyle.
Showing that the “beef” is all in good fun, Logic tweeted a photo of the trio together, writing that he thinks D’Elia had “the best verse” on the new single.
In an interview with Billboard, D’Elia said that he didn’t accept any monetary compensation for his part on the track and just the shoutout alone was “a huge honour.”
