Michael Douglas To Be Handed Special Achievement Honour At The 2019 Webby Awards

This year’s Webby Awards are set to honour Michael Douglas and Desus and Mero, among many others.

Douglas and the comedy duo are set to be recognized with Webby Special Achievement awards for their contributions to Internet culture at the 23rd annual awards bash, which is set to take place at Cipriani Wall Street on May 13.

Desus Nice and the Kid Mero will be presented with a trophy for their successful talk show “Desus & Mero”, while Douglas will be given an award for his work in the role of Sandy Kominsky on the Netflix original, “The Kominsky Method”.

The stars join previously announced notable Special Achievement honourees and winners, including artist Tierra Whack, activist Greta Thunberg, comedian and producer Hasan Minhaj, artist Issa Rae, entrepreneur Emily Weiss, activist and podcast host DeRay Mckesson, Philadelphia Flyers’ mascot Gritty, anti-bullying activist Monica Lewinsky, Hot Ones’ host Sean Evans, and more.

Claire Graves, Executive Director of The Webby Awards, said this year’s Webbys will share everything that happens at the event in real-time: “Today people don’t wait to watch what happened at events.”
