There are just two episodes left of “Game of Thrones,” and fans are already coming up with ideas for potential spinoff series, including a buddy adventure story featuring Arya Stark and the Hound.
American comedian-actor Lance Krall created a spoof trailer for the appropriately titled “Arya and The Hound”, which opens on a scene from the latest episode, where the two frenemies set off on their journey to King’s Landing to settle unfinished business.
The video then features highlights of the unlikely duo from seasons past, including the time the Hound taught Arya how to kill, and that other time where Arya tried to kill the Hound. All of these beautiful memories set to Jim Croce’s smooth-rock classic “I Got A Name.”
HBO has already ordered a pilot for at least one “GOT” spinoff series, reportedly set around 5,000 years before the events of the main drama, a period where near-mythical creatures ruled over Westeros.
In an interview with EW, author George RR Martin, who wrote the original series of books the HBO drama is based on, said that the new spinoff will have a very different feel and look to the current series.
“Westeros is a very different place,” he explained. “There’s no King’s Landing. There’s no Iron Throne. There are no Targaryens — Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built. We’re dealing with a different and older world, and hopefully, that will be part of the fun of the series.”
In the meantime, we’ll just have to hope that both Arya and the Hound survive the final two episodes so that we can get that odd couple spinoff sometime in the near future.
