Britney Spears appeared in court on Friday in the midst of her parent’s legal battle over conservatorship of the singer as she struggles with her mental health, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, is firing back at Internet trolls who suggest she’s only supporting her sister because she pays her.
Shortly after the “Oops… I Did It Again” singer’s court appearance, Jamie Lynn took to Instagram to demonstrate support for her sister, sharing a photo of Britney.
Jamie Lynn’s post received an array of positive responses, but not all of them. One commenter in particular apparently rankled the former “Zoey 101” star.
“Fear of losing your allowance, I see!” read the snarky comment, which earned a scathing response.
“Haha nice try, but I have NEVER been paid a dime from my sister,” she shot back.
“That is HER hard earned money, and I am NOT entitled to a cent of it,” she added. “I would no[t] spend money I did not earn.”
According to People, Britney Spears appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom with her mother, Lynne Spears, in a closed hearing, where the judge reportedly ordered an expert evaluation of the singer.
According to a source, Britney “asked for certain freedoms under her conservatorship, but the judge didn’t grant that request.”
A source previously told People that Lynne’s primary concern in the conservatorship matter is her daughter’s well being.
“Britney is still adjusting to medications,” said the source. “It’s a difficult situation for her and Lynne is in L.A. to help. Lynne wants to be more involved in Britney’s care because she is her mom. If there is something more they can do for Britney, Lynne wants to make sure Britney gets that help.”
