The Houston Rockets’ mascot, Clutch “The Rockets Bear,” has picked a side in the battle for the Iron Throne of Westeros.
During Game 6 of the NBA Western Conference Playoffs on Friday, held at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, Clutch paid his respects to the woman who’s spent eight seasons fighting to rule the Seven Kingdoms: “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO hit.
As Clutch walked down the court, the mascot suddenly stopped in his tracks, dropping his coffee cup and doing a double take when he saw Clarke sitting courtside.

Bowing his head, the mascot bent the knee in respect while Clarke collapsed in laughter. TV viewers got a bonus joke, with an onscreen caption identifying the actress as “Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the First of her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men. Protector of the Seven Kingdoms. The Mother of Dragons. The Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea. The Unburnt. The Breaker of Chains.”
Meanwhile, video of the hilarious moment posted on Twitter by the Rockets quickly went viral, racking up 5.26 million views and counting.
The “Game of Thrones” star wasn’t the only celebrity in attendance at the game, which saw the Warriors win the series with an 118-113 victory over the Rockets; Jay-Z and Beyonce were also on hand to enjoy the action in courtside seats.
