Drake is using his “curse” to the advantage of his home team.
On Sunday night, the 32-year-old Toronto rapper shared a video to his Instagram Stories celebrating Kawhi Leonard’s winning shot, which led the Toronto Raptors to beat the Philadelphia 76ers and enter the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
In the overly-excited NSFW video, the die-hard Raptors fan is seen screaming in excitement with his friends while sporting the opposing team’s 76ers shorts.
Since Drake became a global ambassador for the Raptors in 2013, some fans have blamed the rapper for the team’s losses, calling it the “Drake curse.”
The so-called “curse” even extended to the Italian A.S. Roma soccer team who were “banned” from posing for photos with Drake after a player from Paris Saint-Germain F.C. posted a photo with the rapper and lost the championship match.
Most recently in April, fans once again blamed the Toronto native for sporting a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey to Game 4 of his hometown’s first-round against the Boston Bruins, which ended in the Leafs losing 6-4.
However, in an attempt to reverse his “curse” this time around, Drake hilariously opted for 76ers shorts and even stayed home to watch the game.
